It’s official, I’m now a fully qualified Assistant Sailing Coach!

It’s been quite the journey to become qualified:

Step 1: Complete Australian Sailing Assistant Coaching Course = ✅

Step 2: Recreational Skippers Ticket = ✅

Step 3: Senior First Aid Course = ✅

Step 4: Working with Children Check Card = ✅

Step 5: Experience, I volunteer over summer for 3 months at my local club = ✅

Phew!

Now working on two more steps:

Step 6: get some paid work so that I can…

Step 7: save and make a contribution to the costs of the Laser Nationals trip coming up in January.

This photo is of me accepting the First place prize for the Goolangatup Sailing regatta which was January 2022 (before I broke my arm). So I am using this photo to visualise achieving my very best at the Nationals competition in January 2023.

I would like to pause here because I am so very grateful for the financial support I have already received from my first ever fundraising campaign.

Thank you to each of the 11 donors that have supported me so far. I am working hard on my sailing and I look forward to keeping you updated on my journey to and beyond the Nationals competition in Sydney in 6 months time.

Finally, I know it is almost the end of the financial year because this is a time that is significant for my Mum’s work. From her I have learnt that this also is a time when people may consider a donation to support a person or organisation making a difference.
